Tea Pigs teapigs Organic Matcha Sachets Tea, Matcha is meant to be even better for you than standard green tea

My wife has tried these and these are here opinions. The tea comes in tubes, rather like the sugar does in cafés etc. The tea is in fact a powder that dissolves completely, although you do need to keep it stirred to stop the ‘bits’ from remaining in the bottom of the cup. The tea is green, very very green. Its taste is of tea (obviously) but in its purest form – no bitterness or strange aftertaste. My wife says she likes it a lot, but at the price it isn’t something she would drink all the time – one a day is fine. As far as the health giving properties are concerned, as yet (a two week period) neither my wife of i can see (or feel) any obvious advantage). Perhaps it needs to be drank over a much longer period for that to happen. At almost a pound a time we both feel that this is a bit too expensive and have removed a star because of that.

When matcha is good is there any better taste?. I’m impressed with this tea for a couple of reasons. Firstly it’s organic and that’s not always easy to find. Secondly the sachets are great for carrying to work (or wherever) and are really efficient in producing a lovely cup of tea. I’m also going to experiment with using this product to make ice cream.

teapigs Organic Matcha Sachets Tea (Pack of 14)

  • individually sealed 1g matcha sachets, perfect for when you’re on the go!
  • 100% organic and Premium grade
  • super high in green tea flavonoids, especially the catechin, ECGC
  • slow release energy – from natural tea caffeine and amino acid L Theanine
  • brain power – amino acid L Theanine helps keep you alert and focussed
  • healthy skin – contains polytheonols which can help prevent UV damage

Seems to give you more energy and tastes pretty damn nice too. The teapigs 100% pure organic matcha green tea sachets are a pack of 14 single serve sachets containing a 1g portion of the special organic matcha powder. The idea is that you mix the sachet with water (hot or cold) or milk for a very light green tea taste – but one full of flavonoids, l’theanine and beta carotene. They’re apparently designed to give you sprightliness and all that sort of natural healthy goodstuff. The box recommends that you have one sachet a day, so the pack will last you for two weeks. My wife and i are just having them every now and again, when we feel we may need an extra little kick to get through the day. To make up a drink with one of these sachets you just need to tear one open, poor it into a bottle, add your water (or milk) and then shake (or whisk) well, until the power has completely dissolved. Taste-wise, when added to cold water the matcha taste like a light and crisp green tea with a very slight hint of sweetness (they’re not bitter at all). Well, whether it’s just a placebo style effect or not, i’m not sure, but both my wife and i agree that we often do feel like we have more energy during the day after having one of these sachets.

Matcha tea is a great addition to a smoothie and increases energy levels. Matcha is a powered green tea from japan where it has been used as a tea for hundreds of years, it can be used as a tea or as an ingredient for smoothies or other recipes. Matcha is world renowned for its health benefits which are numerous. There are many more nutrients in matcha powdered green tea than in other green teas, this is because with matcha you are consuming the whole leaf and not just the ‘brewed water’ of other green teas. The health benefits of matcha tea is huge and includes the following:packed full of powerful antioxidants and egcgit can boost metabolism and burn calories. It is rich in chlorophyll, fibre and vitamins. It has been suggested that it can fight cancer. Teapigs organic matcha is a premium grade green tea powder which comes in 14 individually sealed sachets … each sachet contains 1g of green tea powder. Premium grade matcha is for adding to smoothies or using in baking, it can also be used in lattes. Up until this point i had heard of the green tea that you brewed in a teapot, but i had never heard of matcha green tea. I do not like the taste of green tea (the brewed version) as i have always found it disgustingly bitter. So i was quite keen to try this type which is a fairly bright green fine powder which has very little smell.

Convenient sachets of premium green tea. Matcha is meant to be the premium of green teas. I haven’t drunk enough different green teas to know whether the quality is as good as claimed but it certainly makes a wonderful colour of tea that has a slightly bitter taste you’d expect with this product. I like the fact that these come in already measured sachets which makes them nice and portable for taking to work or on holiday with you. Just shake out the sachet contents and stir up with hot water, add milk and sweeteners to taste. You do need to stir this powder in well to mix it up nicely for tea. I recommend tipping the powder into a clean cup, adding just a small amount of hot water and stir it in well before adding the rest of the water and any milk. It seems to mix up better this way. I also like to add these sachets into my porridge which masks any bitterness of flavour and it is my preferred way to add some goodness into my morning breakfast. You can also add them to healthy smoothies too if you like.

teapigs Organic Matcha Sachets Tea (Pack of 14) : High quality green tea in convenient sachets. I’m still not 100% convinced on the flavour of green tea, but this one was very smooth with a delicate scent. If you like green tea i imagine this knocks most others out of the water for taste and texture. Although pricey, this is massively convenience. Brilliantly healthy green tea sachets for your convenience. It isn’t usual to get a product of such quality in this format.

I am rating this four stars because of the convenience. The sachet contains just the right amount of matcha powder for a mug of tea and the powder mixes nicely. It is, however, let down somewhat with the flavour, being grassy. This was somewhat mitigated when used to make matcha lattes and when added to desert custard while making fusion desserts.

      1. Not possible to measure it’s benefits. These matcha sachets are incredibly difficult to give a star rating because the product is assessed differently depending what you want to get out of it. – flavour-wise, i personally thought the flavour was quite vile- admittedly, i only drank one mug/one sachet before passing the box to my mother, but my wellbeing felt no different whatsoever. – the price is high for just fourteen 1g sachets but this stuff is organic and also really labour intensive so can probably be justified. – i don’t want to take on extra calories by making smoothies or using in baking, so as a tea i found it unpleasant to smell and taste. It really depends on what you believe this will do for you. I eat a varied diet and generally feel well and good about myself so how much better, or what difference, can this actually make to me. Will probably do no more for you than a good night’s sleep could do.

    1. I love green tea but am not sure about matcha. I am really trying to like matcha tea because it is supposedly very good for me. Unfortunately i don’t like the taste at all. As someone who only ever drinks herbal teas i feel confident in saying that this one tastes of grass cutting and rather weak ones too. I am not meaning to be rude but i drink at least four different kinds of herbal teas every day and i do so because as well as health benefits, i really enjoy the taste of each of them. I liked the convenience of the matcha being in teabags and that is especially a good idea if you are out. You can take them with you and ask for a mug of hot water rather than drink the builders/earl grey/whatever you are offered.

    1. Incredibly overpriced for 14 1g sachets. This is an ok quality matcha for the grind and not overly bitter but not amazing tasting, to be honest the 1g sachet dosage created a very thin watery tea but is an advised dosage especially if on limited intakes such as i am due to breastfeeding. Personally, i would chuck this product in a smoothie or similar as it wasn’t the most pleasant of matcha i’ve tried mostly due to a wishy washy taste, in a smoothie or similar you probably wouldn’t taste it at all. However it’s incredibly expensive considering you can buy otherwise decent brands between 30-50g around this price, but if you want to be strict on doses and limit yourself to one a day this is a nice way of keeping on top of a 14 day supplywhatever you think of the current trend for matcha as ‘superfood’ it does have a higher concentration of compounds due to the growing conditions, but please take the pr with a pinch of salt, this product is very expensive for what it is.

    1. Expensive but definitely improves my energy. . I’ve been wondering about matcha for a while as i know the benefits of green tea are impressive but i just can’t get myself to enjoy the taste enough to have one every day. I’ve been getting on really well with these sachets. I sometime make it into a hot tea with water but usually only half a cup, if i’m in a rush then i’ve been mixing it with a shot of orange juice which is actually really nice. I do feel the energy rush for the following few hours, not sure if this will pass once i get used to it but loving it at the moment. The taste is fine as long as i’ve mixed it enough so not grainy. Not really yummy but not unpleasant. I like the sachets as i know how many days i’ve got left and how much i’m paying for it. I do keep a couple in my bag that have come in handy when i need a pick me up out and about. I don’t know if i’ll stick with it long term, hopefully but the cost is an issue.

Premium quality, premium price. This box contains 14 sachets of premium quality organic matcha powder. This is the rolls royce of green tea, and it shows – both in the price (£9. 49 at time of writing), and in the flavour. For this quality of matcha, the tea leaves only (no stems or veins) are ground into a fine powder. This means that, instead of a teabag, you empty the entire contents of the sachet into a cup of your chosen beverage and stir until it dissolves. The tea will settle out if it’s left to stand, but the powder is so fine that if it’s stirred well, it really does mix into the liquid quite smoothly. Matcha has quite a delicate flavour. If you’ve found green tea too bitter in the past, this may prove more palatable to you. Indeed, i don’t really get any bitterness from this at all.

    1. Matcha is meant to be even better for you than standard green tea. I’m a bit of a wimp with the bitterness of green teas, so i made this tea in skimmed milk which made it far more palatable than the green teas i’ve tried previously. Matcha is meant to be even better for you than standard green tea, so this is forming part of my new year health kick. I do feel better for it, although i admit that this could be down to my other healthy eating efforts, or the caffeine the matcha has replaced.

If you are looking for a good, organic high quality matcha then this is a worthy contender. . First of all i have to say that i do like tea pigs as a brand, which is a good start. Whilst i am not a huge consumer of tea, i am always looking for healthy options, and so was interested to be able to try this green tea,i tried it in hot water, but it was much more pleasant when whisked into warm skimmed milk with a wee hint of honey. As for all of the other benefits, i think they are hard to quantify, but, put good fuel in the car and works well, so put good things in our bodies and we will be well, from that angle this is good stuff, but i have not noticed any health benefits, but then i did not expect to either. If you are looking for a good, organic high quality matcha then this is a worthy contender. I also like that it is in sachets, great for travelling.
